John Tory's Black History Month Event At Queens Park A Hit

This year's event was a hit with participants. "It just gets better every year," says Zanana Akande, the first black female MPP and founder of Urban Race Alliance. It was just peaceful, smooth, and moving she adds. Akande was one of the speakers involved in a similar event hosted by John Tory last year, who came out to speak this year. Many other leaders within the black community, such as Brampton West PC Candidate Mark Beckles, came out to share their experiences with students to understand the importance of black history in Canada.   DETAILS

"It was a proud moment for me. I am very happy to be here and to see the Cricket World Cup come to St. Vincent and bring all these improvements. It (Arnos Vale) looks very different," he remarked, surveying the picturesque venue. A retired epidemiologist, Dr. Cordice served as head of the cricket association from 1955-1982.
