Eek-A-Mouse Opens His Mouth And A Rat Was Revealed

July 02-08 - In response to a polite, expected request from the Carifest CARES promoters that he issue a public apology for his explicit, racially charged remarks spoken at their press conference, Eek-A-Mouse put himself up on YouTube; however, he was anything but reticent. Rather than apologize, he lashed out at the promoter and the approximately 7,000 people who viewed his tirade, which was caught on film and posted on YouTube. His rebuttal, while no less acerbic than his original rant, was albeit more creative this time. Eek pontificated on an old perspective, and added some new lyrics:

“Don’t let dem fool you, dese bunch of doo doos, on YouTube. You got my faith in the myspace. As I pass through this crossroads watchin’ all dese assholes, as my past unfolds…”
“Yeah, dey know dat reggae music, all the w-w-w-white bands they signing. They say Mouse dissed Bob Marley. I dun dis Bob Marley and Sean Paul. All the fuck I’m sayin’ is that Chris Blackwell was the one mentioned dat because of Bob Marley’s color he could appeal to the white people. So he didn’t think it was right to use Peter, Bunny, Jimmy Cliff or nobody else. So him used Bob, which is good, and he kept down all the fucking niggers. Bang fuckin’ ding ding. Know what I’m sayin’?”
“So now this dude from fucking Carifest used my name as a fuckin’ scapegoat! Why? Because the fucking last time Clear Channel pulled the plug on him, because he got some little crazy ass dude onstage talking about killin’ gays and lesbians, and deh gay and lesbian people dem, start demonstrate. The first time that fucker met me him said, ‘Mouse the reason why I put you pon deh show is because white folks love you.’ So that mean the fucker don’t like me? Most fuckin’ niggas hate me because white folks love me. I don’t sing about beating no Babylon, I don’t sing about killing people or killin’ gay and lesbians, I love everyone in the fucking world dat move, bang fucking ding ding! Know what I’m sayin’?”
“Leaches and parasites around me, but Jah Jah found me. Now I’m on my way out deep, no place to sleep; like a dog, on a leash. Head above the sea, my body deep beneath. Now dey clownin’, watchin’ me drownin.’ No one seems to call me. Is it because I’m not a Marley? Dem say dere is a market, but Rita she wont re-Marley…”
This humorous, defensive posturing was posted on YouTube after Eek-A-Mouse was removed from the Carifest CARES line-up, for his failure to apologize to the Carifest community, for saying at the press conference that the festival “didn’t mean shit to him.”
